August letter — Night Out recap, leaf pickup, dues

What a turnout for National Night Out — the sign-in sheet says sixty-one of you came through the park, and the grill crew went home empty-handed, which is the good kind of empty. Photos are up on the wall.

Two dates for the fridge: the city’s leaf pickup starts the week of November 3 on our side of the avenue, and the fall cleanup is Saturday, September 20 — gloves and bags provided, bring a wheelbarrow if you have one.

Dues season opens next month. You can renew online from your membership page in about a minute, or bring a check to the September meeting the way you always have. Either way counts.
